Emsteel Reports Impressive Q1 Profit Surge Through Operational Efficiency
Emsteel has kicked off 2026 with a powerful financial performance, reporting a staggering 246% jump in net profit to Dh299 million for the first quarter. While total revenues remained steady at Dh2.2 billion, the companyās focus on streamlining operations and managing costs paid off significantly. By optimizing raw material expenses and achieving a 3% rise in average selling prices, Emsteel managed to expand its Ebitda margin to 22.3%, a marked improvement from the 12.3% recorded during the same period last year.
The groupās steel division continues to serve as the primary driver of its success, even as the company navigated a brief dip in steel sales volumes due to scheduled maintenance. Meanwhile, the cement and clinker segment saw an impressive 32% rise in volumes, highlighting robust demand in the UAEās construction sector. Group CEO Saeed Ghumran Al Remeithi attributed these results to the company's integrated business model and its ability to maintain agility in a fluctuating market. Moving forward, the leadership team plans to maintain a cautious, disciplined approach to navigate regional uncertainties while keeping their balance sheet strong, supported by a healthy net cash position of Dh1.3 billion.
