Black Spade Capital Backs UAE’s 3,333km Charity Cycling Challenge
Black Spade Capital Limited has announced its support for a grueling 3,333km charity cycling journey, joining Jonathan Emery, the CEO of Aldar Development, in his mission to raise funds for cancer research and patient care. The ambitious 25-day event, known as the CycleAgainstCancer campaign, features a team of 15 cyclists traversing Spain and France. Throughout the trek, the group will endure intense physical conditions, including climbing over 54,000 metres in elevation, all to bolster the vital health initiatives led by the UAE-based Al Jalila Foundation.
For the Hong Kong-based family office, this partnership marks a strategic step in its expansion into the UAE market. Black Spade noted that its collaboration with Emery and the firm’s commitment to philanthropic causes were the primary drivers behind the sponsorship. Beyond its charitable efforts, Black Spade Capital—which manages the private wealth of Lawrence Ho—continues to diversify its global portfolio, spanning sectors from renewable energy to medical technology. The firm has also made significant waves in the SPAC market recently, including the notable merger with VinFast Auto and several subsequent business combinations, as it solidifies its international investment footprint.
