UAE Companies Embrace AI for Sensitive HR Decisions

Wed, Jul 1, 2026(3h ago)Business

Artificial intelligence is rapidly transforming the corporate landscape in the UAE, moving beyond simple recruitment tasks to influence critical employment outcomes. According to a recent study by HireRight, a significant 42% of local employers now leverage AI to guide promotion decisions, while 31% utilize these digital tools to assist with terminations. With only 14% of organizations currently opting out of AI in their human resources departments, the technology has become a cornerstone of workplace management in the region. Interestingly, HR leaders are becoming more accepting of candidates using AI-generated materials for job applications, shifting their focus toward verifying the authenticity of applicants rather than penalizing the use of modern tools.

However, this technological shift comes alongside rising concerns regarding identity fraud and recruitment complexities. The report reveals that 63% of local HR leaders uncovered identity fraud within their workforce over the past year, highlighting the urgent need for stringent background screenings. As companies grapple with high hiring costs, significant turnover, and the challenge of finding qualified talent, the emphasis is moving toward a hybrid approach. Industry experts suggest that the most successful firms will be those that effectively balance the efficiency of AI with essential human judgment and rigorous verification processes to protect their reputation and security.
