Aster Quality Care Aims to Bridge the Healthcare Gap in India’s Emerging Cities
The recent merger between Aster DM Healthcare and Quality Care India Limited (QCIL) has officially launched Aster Quality Care, a unified entity that brings together four major brands: Aster DM, CARE Hospitals, Evercare, and KIMSHEALTH. Led by Executive Chairman Dr. Azad Moopen and Managing Director/CEO Varun Khanna, this new powerhouse is set to reshape India’s medical landscape by decentralizing high-end clinical services. By leveraging a network of 39 hospitals across 28 cities and an initial capacity of over 10,600 beds, the group is prioritizing access for patients in tier 2 and tier 3 cities, effectively eliminating the need for long-distance travel to metropolitan hubs for complex medical procedures.
This strategic expansion is not just about physical infrastructure; the group aims to scale its operations to over 15,000 beds while integrating advanced technology and a massive workforce of 45,000 healthcare professionals. By fostering a collaborative environment where doctors and specialists share clinical protocols and expertise, Aster Quality Care intends to deliver consistent, world-class treatment across all its locations. Both Dr. Moopen and Mr. Khanna emphasize that the merger is a commitment to patient-centric care, aiming to build a more resilient and future-ready institution that brings specialized medical excellence directly into the communities that need it most.
