Flydubai Restores Direct Air Travel to Aleppo After 14 Years

Sat, Jul 11, 2026(3h ago)Business

After a hiatus spanning over a decade, Flydubai is officially returning to Aleppo, Syria, with the launch of daily non-stop flights starting July 20, 2026. This new route marks the airline’s second destination in the country, complementing its existing service to Damascus. By re-establishing this connection, the Dubai-based carrier aims to bridge the gap in underserved markets, fostering stronger cultural and economic bonds between the UAE and Syria.

Ghaith Al Ghaith, CEO of Flydubai, noted that this expansion is a key milestone for the airline’s network strategy, noting that the move directly addresses the steady demand for travel to the region. Hamad Obaidalla, the airline’s Chief Commercial Officer, echoed this sentiment, highlighting that the positive response from the Damascus route solidified the decision to expand. With these daily flights launching just in time for the busy summer season, the airline hopes to provide travelers with more reliable and convenient options for visiting family and conducting business.
