Dewa Approves Over 61,000 NOCs Under Soqoor Initiative
Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has achieved a significant operational milestone, successfully processing 61,183 No-Objection Certificate (NOC) applications during the first half of 2026. This surge in productivity is largely attributed to the "Soqoor" corporate initiative, a streamlined system designed to simplify the approval process for consultants and contractors. By prioritizing "first-time right" submissions, the program has effectively removed traditional bureaucratic hurdles, allowing over 2,300 industry partners to expedite their construction and infrastructure projects across the emirate.
The breakdown of these approvals highlights high activity across DEWA’s key sectors, with Transmission Power leading the way with 32,802 applications, followed by Distribution Power and Water & Civil projects. Beyond mere efficiency, this initiative directly supports the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33) by fostering an environment conducive to sustainable growth and investment. DEWA’s leadership noted that by minimizing administrative fines and preventing field-level infrastructure damage, the Soqoor program serves as a vital tool for developers. To maintain this progress, the utility continues to offer 24/7 digital access to technical guidelines and hosts regular workshops to keep industry partners updated on evolving structural standards.
