Dubai’s SME in a Box Initiative Sees Strong Early Growth

Sun, Aug 16, 2026(6h ago)Business

Dubai’s "SME in a Box" initiative has hit the ground running, attracting over 500 applications in just its first month. Launched by the Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment for Small and Medium Enterprises Development (Dubai SME), the platform serves as a centralized hub designed to streamline the business setup process for entrepreneurs. By providing a single point of access to essential services—ranging from logistics and accounting to banking and technology—the initiative aims to make starting and managing a business in the city faster and more affordable, aligning closely with the ambitious goals of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33.

The early performance metrics highlight the tangible benefits the program offers to the local business community. According to CEO Ahmad Al Room Almheiri, participating companies have already seen significant improvements, with an average of 500 hours saved on onboarding and research, alongside approximately Dh20,000 in operational cost reductions per business. Moving forward, the focus will shift toward enhancing the platform’s technological capabilities and deepening partnerships to further simplify the entrepreneurial journey, with an initial goal of positively impacting 400 firms through increased efficiency and streamlined access to critical resources.
