Dubai’s Parkin to Expand Smart Parking Infrastructure with 5,000 New Cameras
Parkin, the leading parking operator in Dubai, is set to significantly upgrade its on-street parking infrastructure by installing 5,000 advanced solar-powered smart cameras. This rollout follows the successful initial deployment of 1,000 similar units earlier this year. According to CEO Mohamed Al Ali, these technological enhancements are designed to streamline operations by enabling automatic payment deductions across various parking zones, including malls and multi-storey facilities. Beyond physical hardware, the company is leveraging AI in its 24/7 call centers, which has already helped resolve 93 percent of customer inquiries through initial contact.
The company is also looking to scale its influence beyond the UAE, recently forming strategic partnerships with Egyptian firms to explore regional parking projects. This international push is complemented by a strong financial performance, with Parkin reporting a 12 percent rise in net profits to Dh166.2 million. CFO Khattab Abu Qaoud noted that this growth is largely driven by a steady demand for seasonal parking cards and consistent usage patterns. As Parkin continues to integrate digital solutions and expand its regional footprint, it remains focused on enhancing user convenience and operational efficiency across its entire network.
