IndiGo Flight Forced to Return to Trichy Following Technical Issue
An IndiGo flight bound for Singapore from Trichy was forced to make an unexpected return on Friday evening after the crew reported a technical malfunction shortly after takeoff. The aircraft, which was carrying 127 passengers, departed at approximately 6:40 pm but soon encountered the mid-air issue. To ensure a secure landing, the pilots remained in the air for about two and a half hours, circling the region to burn off fuel and coordinate closely with ground control.
By 9 pm, the plane touched down safely at Trichy International Airport, where emergency preparations had already been put in place. Airport Director Gopalakrishnan confirmed that the landing was executed without incident. To minimize disruption for those on board, the airline quickly arranged an alternative aircraft to transport all 127 passengers to their original destination in Singapore, ensuring that travelers could continue their journey once the necessary arrangements were completed.
