Dubai Maritime City (DMC) recently reached a major operational milestone, managing a record 52 vessels within its dry berths in just one day. This surge, recorded on July 28, highlights a robust rebound in the maritime sector, driven by heightened activity in both the oil and gas industries and the leisure craft market. Year-over-year data for July shows a 22 percent rise in dry berth occupancy, while the total number of vessels serviced throughout the month climbed to 202, marking a 7 percent increase compared to the previous year.

The facility has seen particularly explosive growth in the yachting sector, which experienced an 88 percent jump in occupancy for the month and an impressive 110 percent increase year-to-date. To accommodate this rising demand, DMC is aggressively expanding its capacity, including the acquisition of 500 new ship cradle units for smaller craft. Beyond physical infrastructure, the hub is prioritizing operational efficiency by integrating AI-based safety protocols, automating gate access for smoother vehicle flow, and streamlining its reservation systems to better serve its growing client base.
