Dubai Airport Goes High-Tech: No More Unpacking for Travelers
Traveling through Dubai International (DXB) is becoming a much smoother experience as the airport aggressively rolls out advanced security screening technology. Under this new system, passengers no longer need to endure the hassle of removing their shoes, belts, or pulling laptops and liquids out of their carry-on bags. CEO Paul Griffiths confirmed that the airport is moving away from these intrusive procedures, aiming to make the entire security process significantly faster and more convenient for travelers.
The project, which began last year, involves a phased installation of high-resolution 3D scanners across all three terminals. While the upgrade is currently an ongoing process, passengers can already encounter these new machines during their travels. In addition to these security improvements, the airport is undergoing significant infrastructure updates, including a refurbished terminal area featuring a new, high-end retail space. By replacing aging equipment with state-of-the-art tech and investing heavily in facilities, Dubai Airports is setting a new standard for operational efficiency and passenger comfort.
