Shein’s Hong Kong IPO Valuation Set at $26.5 Billion

Thu, Aug 27, 2026(2h ago)Business

Fast-fashion giant Shein is preparing to finalize its Hong Kong initial public offering, with reports indicating a share price near the midpoint of its target range. This move is expected to raise approximately $1.7 billion, placing the company’s total valuation at roughly $26.5 billion. While this figure is a significant milestone for the retailer, it reflects a notable downward trend from its 2022 private market peak of nearly $100 billion and its $66 billion valuation during a 2023 funding round.

Investor sentiment toward the offering has been mixed, as market analysts point to waning enthusiasm for new listings in Hong Kong following recent market volatility. Experts suggest that concerns over slowing revenue growth, intensifying online competition, and regulatory pressures in Western markets have left potential buyers hesitant. Despite these challenges, Shein has secured support from notable cornerstone investors like Tiger Global and General Atlantic, with plans to funnel the majority of the IPO proceeds into technology upgrades and global brand expansion.
