Gold Prices Soften in Dubai Ahead of Key Federal Reserve Insights

Fri, Aug 28, 2026(3h ago)Business

Gold prices in Dubai saw a slight decline on Friday morning as investors adopted a cautious stance ahead of the highly anticipated remarks from Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh at the Jackson Hole symposium. By the start of the trading day, 24K gold was priced at Dh552.5 per gram, marking a drop of roughly Dh2 compared to Thursday’s closing figures. Similar downward trends were observed across other variants, with 22K and 21K gold slipping to Dh511.75 and Dh490.5 per gram, respectively, while spot gold prices dipped by 0.66 percent globally.

Market analysts are closely watching the symposium to gauge the Federal Reserve’s future policy direction, especially regarding inflation and the cooling labor market. Experts like Ahmad Assiri from Pepperstone suggest that the market is particularly sensitive to how the Fed will navigate the current fiscal landscape, especially with the backdrop of rising U.S. debt and recent Treasury interventions. If the commentary from the Fed suggests a move toward more accommodative policies, it could potentially weaken the dollar and create a favorable environment for gold to rebound in the coming weeks.
