UAE Fuel Prices Hike for September 2026

Mon, Aug 31, 2026(2h ago)Business

The UAE has officially released the fuel price adjustments for September 2026, marking another increase following a brief dip in July. Starting September 1, motorists will see Super 98 petrol rise to Dh3.8 per litre, while Special 95 and E-Plus 91 will climb to Dh3.69 and Dh3.61, respectively. Diesel has seen the most significant adjustment, jumping to Dh4.3 per litre from its previous August rate of Dh3.8. These fluctuations continue a volatile trend that has seen prices rise by over 60 percent since the regional conflict began earlier this year.

The current upward pressure on fuel costs is largely driven by escalating geopolitical tensions, including the breakdown of the US-Iran ceasefire and heightened threats to Red Sea oil infrastructure. For many residents across the UAE, these recurring price hikes are a major concern, as fuel remains a non-negotiable household expense. As motorists prepare to adjust their budgets to accommodate these higher costs, the ongoing uncertainty in the Middle East suggests that fuel pricing will likely remain unstable for the foreseeable future.
