Abu Dhabi’s Real Estate Market Shatters Records with Dh155 Billion in Transactions
The real estate sector in Abu Dhabi has reached a historic milestone, recording Dh155 billion in transaction value during the first eight months of 2026. This performance has already eclipsed the total figures from the entirety of 2025, which sat at Dh142 billion. According to the Abu Dhabi Real Estate Centre (Adrec), this surge is not a seasonal trend but a result of consistent, structural growth. The market has maintained momentum throughout the year, with a massive 160.7 percent jump in Q1 transactions alone compared to the previous year, highlighting a significantly expanded and more mature property landscape.
A key driver of this rapid growth is the influx of foreign direct investment, which hit Dh13.8 billion in the first half of the year—already surpassing the 2025 annual total. Investors from over 116 countries are actively participating in the market, supported by strong demand for off-plan properties and notable price resilience, particularly in apartments and townhouses. With a growing residential inventory projected to reach over 480,000 units by 2030, analysts and industry experts are optimistic. As the year enters its final months, all indicators suggest that 2026 will go down as the most successful year in the emirate's real estate history.
