AI Adoption Across the GCC Surpasses Global Standards

Thu, Sep 3, 2026(1h ago)Business

Artificial intelligence has rapidly transformed from a novelty to a daily necessity for the vast majority of the Gulf workforce. According to a recent report by Boston Consulting Group (BCG), an impressive 93% of frontline workers and 95% of managers across the GCC utilize AI tools at least several times a week. This high rate of integration places the region at the forefront of global AI adoption, significantly outpacing the worldwide average of 74%. Beyond mere usage, the technology is delivering tangible efficiency, with more than half of these employees reporting that AI saves them at least one full workday per week.

The shift toward an AI-driven environment is also redefining professional expectations, as over 85% of workers confirm that their roles now demand different skill sets than before. Interestingly, this evolution is sparking optimism rather than widespread anxiety; most employees report greater job satisfaction and enjoyment since incorporating AI into their routines. While a majority of the workforce anticipates that AI could handle half of their responsibilities within three years, fears of job displacement remain relatively low. However, experts warn that for these productivity gains to translate into long-term business success, companies must move beyond simple deployment and invest heavily in employee training and clear governance models.
