IndiGo Issues Travel Advisory as Heavy Rain Disrupts Delhi Operations

Sun, Sep 6, 2026(2h ago)Business

IndiGo has issued a travel advisory urging passengers flying through Delhi to prepare for potential delays caused by ongoing heavy rainfall and waterlogging across the capital. The airline is keeping a close watch on the weather’s impact on flight schedules and recommends that travelers check their flight status through the airline’s website or mobile app before heading to the airport. Additionally, passengers have been advised to account for extra commute time, as the rainy conditions have made travel to the airport more difficult than usual.

This disruption follows a significant downpour that has impacted the region, causing localized flooding and traffic congestion in parts of Delhi and Gurugram. While Delhi Airport officials confirmed that operations were generally continuing, the facility has faced scrutiny after severe water accumulation was reported on the premises. Staff members and commuters have raised concerns about the airport's infrastructure, emphasizing the need for immediate improvements to prevent future weather-related logistical challenges and to protect the facility's operational reputation.
