World’s Largest Silver Bar Leads Dubai’s Asset Tokenization Wave
Dubai has officially taken a major step into the future of finance with the launch of the world’s largest silver bar as a tokenized commodity. Weighing in at a massive 1,971 kilograms, the Guinness World Record-holding bar—created by SAM Precious Metals to honor the UAE’s founding year—is now the first asset to be tokenized under the joint DMCC-VARA framework. By converting this physical giant into digital, fractional interests, authorities are successfully bridging the gap between traditional commodities and modern blockchain technology.
Managed by the Dubai-based platform Tokinvest, these digital shares are issued as asset-referenced virtual assets (Arvas) on the BNB Chain. This initiative, which secured the silver bar within secure Brink’s facilities, allows investors to bypass the barriers of physical ownership that once made such assets inaccessible. With the support of both the DMCC and the Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA), this project serves as a practical blueprint for how institutional-grade commodities can be transformed into liquid, investable digital products for a broader range of investors.
