UAE Airlines Issue Travel Advisories for Eid Al Adha Rush

Sun, May 24, 2026(46d ago)Business

Major UAE carriers, including Emirates, Etihad Airways, and flydubai, have released urgent travel advisories as they prepare for a massive surge in passenger traffic during the upcoming Eid Al Adha holiday. With the public and private sectors in the UAE enjoying extended breaks, airports are expected to be exceptionally crowded. To mitigate potential delays, the airlines are strongly urging travelers to arrive at the airport at least three to four hours before their scheduled departure time and to head to their boarding gates well in advance to navigate increased security and immigration queues.

To streamline the process, airlines are encouraging passengers to leverage digital solutions such as online check-in, home check-in services, and city-based kiosks. Emirates has specifically suggested using public transport, including the Dubai Metro, to bypass heavy road traffic near Dubai International Airport. Meanwhile, Etihad and flydubai have reminded passengers to double-check their baggage requirements—emphasizing that items like power banks and e-cigarettes must remain in cabin luggage—and to monitor flight information screens closely. By planning ahead and utilizing these remote check-in options, travelers can enjoy a more seamless journey despite the peak holiday rush.
