Abu Dhabi Emerges as a Hub for Institutional Digital Asset Investment
The appetite for digital assets among institutional investors is surging, prompting a shift toward sophisticated, regulated investment structures in the Gulf. Reflecting this trend, Abu Dhabi-based Vertix Holdings has teamed up with Spain’s Iqana Technologies to launch a specialized digital asset management venture within the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM). This partnership, which is currently awaiting regulatory approval, is designed specifically for family offices and professional investors who prefer professionally managed strategies over the risks associated with direct cryptocurrency holdings.
A standout feature of this proposed model is its focus on security and transparency, as client assets will remain in the investors' own accounts rather than being held by the fund manager. By leveraging Iqana’s expertise under the EU’s MiCA regulatory framework alongside ADGM’s robust oversight, the collaboration aims to provide the institutional-grade governance that has historically been missing in the crypto space. Both Vertix and Iqana emphasize that this move is about professionalizing the asset class, ensuring that investors receive the same level of safety and control they expect from traditional financial markets.
