Dubai Gold Market Shows Signs of Recovery
Gold prices in Dubai saw a modest uptick on Thursday morning, with 24K gold climbing by Dh4 to reach Dh498 per gram, recovering slightly from the previous day's close of Dh494. This upward momentum was mirrored across other categories as well, with 22K, 21K, 18K, and 14K variants trading higher at Dh461.25, Dh442.25, Dh379, and Dh295.75, respectively. On the global stage, spot gold experienced a 0.44% increase to $4,132.5 per ounce, while silver remained relatively flat, hovering near $60 per ounce.
Despite the recent rebound, financial experts suggest that gold continues to navigate a turbulent environment influenced by a strengthening dollar and elevated Treasury yields. Vijay Valecha of Century Financial notes that while higher yields create persistent headwinds, there is underlying strength from consistent central bank acquisitions and positive ETF inflows, which saw 81,000 troy ounces added in the most recent session. From a technical perspective, analysts are watching the $4,100–$4,120 range as a critical support zone, noting that gold’s ability to hold these levels will be essential for determining whether the current recovery can break through upcoming resistance hurdles near $4,180.
