ADIB Launches Dh1.75 Billion Rights Issue to Fuel Growth
Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) has officially set the timeline for its Dh1.75 billion rights issue, with the subscription period running from November 10 to November 24, 2026. Shareholders hoping to participate must have held their positions by October 29 to meet the eligibility requirements. To facilitate the process, the bank has opened trading for subscription rights on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) from November 4 to 16. New shares are slated to begin trading on December 18, following regulatory approval from both the Central Bank of the UAE and the Capital Market Authority.
The capital increase involves issuing up to 106.38 million new ordinary shares priced at Dh16.45 each, which reflects a 28.8% discount compared to the bank's closing price in August. Eligible investors will receive roughly one right for every 34.14 shares currently held. For those who choose not to participate, these rights can be sold on the open market; otherwise, their stake in the bank will face dilution once the issuance is finalized. Shareholders can easily manage their subscriptions via the ADIB mobile app, the ADX ePortal, or by visiting a local bank branch.
This strategic move is a key component of ADIBâs "Vision 2035" growth plan, aimed at bolstering the bankâs capital base as it scales its operations. With assets exceeding Dh300 billion, ADIB leadership expects this fresh capital to provide the flexibility needed to pursue new business opportunities, particularly in the realms of artificial intelligence and digital banking. Group CEO Mohamed Abdelbary emphasized that the bank is entering a new phase of expansion from a position of financial stability, ensuring it remains well-equipped to sustain its strong market momentum in the coming years.
