UAE Unveils $1 Million AI Prize and Global Future Hub at WEF
The UAE has teamed up with the World Economic Forum to launch three ambitious projects aimed at shaping the global landscape. Central to this collaboration is the establishment of the Centre for Global Future Opportunities, a pioneering facility designed to bridge the gap between emerging economic trends and practical legislation. Additionally, the UAE introduced a $1 million "Global Innovation Challenge AI Award" in partnership with Dubai Municipality, which seeks to reward groundbreaking AI solutions that can revolutionize urban services. To foster the next generation of innovators, the country also unveiled the "Future 20" initiative, a program dedicated to highlighting 20 young leaders under the age of 30 who are poised to drive significant global transformation in the coming decades.
During the WEF’s Annual Meeting of Global Future Leaders in Dubai, UAE Minister of Cabinet Affairs Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi emphasized that the nation is shifting from simply discussing the future to actively defining it. Addressing the complex challenges of modern times, he noted that the global balance of power, the evolution of human capability alongside technology, and the urgent transition toward renewable energy are the three major pillars currently redefining leadership. According to Al Gergawi, true progress hinges on a leader’s ability to turn abstract visions into tangible results that positively impact the lives of people everywhere.
