Dubai Looks to China to Boost Industrial Manufacturing Sector
Dubai is setting its sights on a major expansion of its industrial sector, aiming to nearly double its current manufacturing output to 20 percent. Sultan Al Mansoori, Chairman of Dubai Chambers, recently highlighted that the emirate intends to leverage Chinese manufacturing expertise to develop the necessary infrastructure and talent base. By fostering these partnerships, Dubai hopes to not only strengthen its own industrial capabilities but also position itself as a central hub to serve the wider regional market.
The push for collaboration comes as the UAE and China celebrate decades of flourishing bilateral trade, which surged to over $111 billion in 2025. This momentum is reflected in the rapid growth of Chinese businesses in Dubai, with the number of registered companies more than tripling since 2016. With major Chinese banks and firms in sectors like energy and technology establishing a strong presence in the emirate, Dubai is clearly signaling that it is open for business and ready to integrate global industrial expertise to fuel its next phase of economic growth.
