UAE and China Forge Logistics Alliance with New Dh500 Million Dubai Hub
Gargash Prime has officially partnered with Chinese investment firm JD Property to develop a massive 2.5 million square feet logistics facility within Dubai Industrial City. With a projected investment exceeding Dh500 million, the project aims to bolster local supply chain capabilities and serve as a vital regional distribution hub. Shehab Gargash, the Managing Director of Gargash Prime, emphasized that the facility is designed to complement existing infrastructure rather than compete with it. The construction is scheduled to kick off in 2027, with the initial phase expected to be completed within 18 months, leaving room for future expansion as market demand grows.
This collaboration, formalized during the Dubai Business Forum in Shenzhen, underscores the deepening economic ties between the UAE and China. JD Property, the investment arm of tech giant JD.com, brings extensive global expertise to the venture, planning to use the site to support businesses looking to expand their footprint in the Middle East. The move aligns with the rising trade trajectory between the two nations, as China continues to hold its position as Dubai’s largest global trading partner. With non-oil trade between the two regions seeing significant double-digit growth and Chinese foreign direct investment into Dubai tripling recently, this logistics hub stands as a cornerstone for future commercial connectivity.
