Air India and Air India Express Extend Saudi Flight Suspension Until October 24
Air India and Air India Express have officially extended the suspension of all flights connecting to Jeddah, Riyadh, and Dammam through October 24. This decision follows the heightened security concerns and recent regional instability, including the October 10 attack on King Khalid International Airport, which tragically resulted in fatalities. The airlines emphasized that these measures are being taken to prioritize passenger safety while they continue to monitor the evolving situation across the region.
To assist travelers impacted by these cancellations, the airlines are offering flexible rebooking options for those with tickets issued on or before October 15 for travel between October 9 and 25. Passengers can take advantage of a one-time complimentary date change for travel up to November 10, or they may choose to reroute through alternative GCC hubs served by the carriers, such as Dubai, Doha, Abu Dhabi, or Bahrain, depending on availability. Alternatively, those who prefer not to alter their plans can opt for a full ticket refund. Other regional carriers, including IndiGo and Akasa Air, have also paused operations to these Saudi cities in response to the ongoing security threats.
