Etihad Airways Extends Flight Cancellations to Saudi Arabia

Mon, Oct 19, 2026(2h ago)Business

Etihad Airways has officially extended its suspension of flights connecting Abu Dhabi to Dammam, Jeddah, and Riyadh through Saturday, October 24. This decision follows previous travel disruptions that were initially scheduled to end on October 19. The airline noted that the ongoing regional instability has made the situation highly unpredictable, and further adjustments to the flight schedule may be required depending on how conditions evolve.

These service interruptions are part of a broader impact on Saudi Arabia’s aviation sector, which has seen thousands of flights grounded or cancelled due to recent security threats. With major hubs like King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh facing significant operational challenges, both local and international carriers have struggled to maintain normal schedules. Etihad is currently working to rebook impacted travelers and strongly advises all passengers to monitor the official website for real-time updates before heading to the airport.
