Flying Cars Take Flight: Aridge Eyes 2027 UAE Debut
Aridge is moving full steam ahead with plans to launch its innovative "Land Aircraft Carrier" in the UAE, aiming for consumer availability by late 2027. Currently finalizing its certification process in China, the company has already completed crucial test flights and is shifting its focus to the Middle East. By establishing a regulatory sandbox in Ras Al Khaimah, Aridge plans to work closely with local authorities to safely test its modular flying system, which allows users to transition seamlessly from driving a vehicle to piloting a short-range aircraft.
The company views Ras Al Khaimah’s less congested landscape as the perfect launchpad for these operations, with long-term goals of connecting major hubs like Abu Dhabi and Dubai. While the firm currently holds over 300 early orders, it remains focused on building a reliable regulatory framework before scaling up to an anticipated 1,000 units annually. Beyond the modular car, Aridge is also developing larger, high-speed electric aircraft for inter-city travel, signaling a broader commitment to pioneering the future of advanced air mobility across the region.
