Emirates Increases Dubai-Durban Capacity for the 2026-2027 Holiday Season

Tue, Oct 20, 2026(1h ago)Business

To accommodate the seasonal surge in travel demand, Emirates has announced the addition of 14 extra flights between Dubai and Durban for late 2026 and early 2027. By introducing a second daily service between December 17–23 and January 2–8, the airline aims to offer greater flexibility for those looking to reunite with family or enjoy South Africa’s summer sunshine. These flights, operated by a three-class Boeing 777, will complement the existing daily EK775 and EK776 schedule, opening up seamless connections for travelers heading to popular global destinations like Thailand, the UK, and India.

Beyond supporting holiday travelers, this increase in flight frequency serves as a strategic boost for Durban’s tourism sector, making the coastal city more accessible to international visitors from the Northern Hemisphere. To ensure a stress-free travel experience, Emirates has implemented flexible booking policies, including complimentary date changes and the "Hold My Fare" service, alongside comprehensive travel insurance options. Passengers can now book these extra flights directly through the Emirates website, mobile app, or their preferred travel agency.
