Abu Dhabi Unveils New Unified Facade Standards for Industrial Facilities
Abu Dhabi is launching a significant initiative to modernize the appearance and safety of its industrial landscape, starting with a new regulatory framework in Mussafah. Overseen by the Urban Planning and Permits Centre (UPPC), these unified standards aim to overhaul the visual quality of street-facing facades for workshops, warehouses, and showrooms alike. By introducing structured guidelines for maintenance, signage, and fire safety, the emirate hopes to create a more organized and pedestrian-friendly urban environment that better reflects the regionâs economic status.
The program is designed with flexibility in mind, offering a tiered approach to compliance that ranges from basic cleaning and repainting to comprehensive architectural redevelopment. This allows property owners to address their specific building conditions effectively, with the implementation process being rolled out gradually to ensure businesses have sufficient time to adapt. According to Eng. Abdulla Mohamed Alblooshi, these efforts are not just about aesthetics; they are a vital step in enhancing workplace safety and supporting the long-term operational efficiency of Abu Dhabiâs industrial sector.
