Commercial Bank of Dubai Reports Strong Third Quarter Growth
The Commercial Bank of Dubai (CBD) has delivered a robust performance for the third quarter of 2026, recording a net profit after tax of Dh969 million. This 9.4% jump from the previous quarter was largely driven by expanded lending activities and a significant 22.6% reduction in impairment losses. The bankâs year-to-date results are equally impressive, with a record pre-tax profit of Dh2,948 million for the first nine months. Dr. Bernd van Linder, the bankâs CEO, attributed this success to the resilience of their customer relationships and a disciplined strategy that balances aggressive portfolio growth with prudent risk management.
Beyond the profit margins, CBD has bolstered its balance sheet, with total assets reaching Dh167.9 billion and net loans climbing by 8.5% to Dh109.6 billion. The bank continues to prioritize technological transformation, allocating resources toward AI, digitization, and regulatory compliance, which contributed to a slight rise in operating expenses. With capital adequacy ratios remaining well above the mandates set by the Central Bank of the UAE and a successful $600 million bond issuance earlier this year, the bank remains well-positioned to maintain its momentum and support the evolving financial needs of its customers across the Emirates.
