GTHE Unveils JCB Hydrogen Engine at WETEX to Drive UAE’s Green Transition
Galadari Trucks and Heavy Equipment (GTHE) is making waves at WETEX 2026 by debuting a groundbreaking hydrogen engine developed by JCB. As the UAE pushes for more sustainable industrial practices, this innovative technology serves as a clean alternative to traditional diesel machinery. Unlike hybrid systems that still rely on fossil fuels, this engine runs entirely on hydrogen, marking a significant leap toward achieving zero-emission operations in the heavy equipment sector. Ahmad Juma, National Sales Manager at GTHE, noted that the company is currently presenting the engine as a standalone unit, with plans to integrate it into heavy machinery as the market matures and hydrogen infrastructure expands.
While hydrogen power is the highlight, GTHE is also showcasing a broader lineup of eco-friendly gear, including electric excavators and scissor lifts. Juma emphasized that transitioning the construction industry to green technology is a gradual process that mirrors the early adoption curve of electric vehicles. Strategic collaborations, particularly with the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), remain vital to this effort, as DEWA’s existing hydrogen facilities provide a much-needed foundation for testing and scaling these tools. By introducing these solutions incrementally, GTHE aims to lead the UAE's heavy equipment market toward a more sustainable and carbon-neutral future.
