Gold prices in Dubai hold steady as market awaits Fed guidance

Wed, Aug 26, 2026(2h ago)Finance

After a robust four-day winning streak, gold prices in Dubai have leveled off this Wednesday. The 24K variant opened at Dh559.25, reflecting a marginal dip of Dh0.75 from the previous day’s close. This stabilization follows a period of significant growth for the precious metal, which saw a 7 percent surge last week driven largely by a softening US dollar. Market analysts suggest this consolidation is a natural reaction after three consecutive weeks of gains, during which gold prices climbed to their highest intraday levels since mid-May.

Investors are now shifting their focus toward the upcoming Jackson Hole Symposium, where commentary from the Federal Reserve is expected to provide much-needed clarity on inflation and future interest rate strategies. While market sentiment remains positive due to strong central bank purchasing and geopolitical volatility, gold currently faces a technical resistance level near $4,651 per ounce. Meanwhile, silver is showing similar resilience, bolstered by recovering import demand from India as jewellers prepare for the upcoming festival and wedding season.
