Emirati Women Drive Massive Growth in UAE Financial Markets

Fri, Aug 28, 2026(4h ago)Finance

In celebration of Emirati Women’s Day, recent data from the Capital Market Authority has highlighted the remarkable influence of local women within the UAE’s financial landscape. Currently, there are over 554,000 active female investors in the country, with Emirati women making up 70 percent of that group. Even more impressively, they command a staggering 93 percent of the total investment value held by women, which amounts to Dh63 billion. These figures underscore a significant shift, positioning Emirati women as a driving force behind the nation's economic depth and long-term diversification goals.

This trend is particularly evident at the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX), where nearly 125,000 Emirati women are actively trading. By July 2026, their holdings on the exchange reached Dh39 billion, accounting for 94 percent of the total value held by all women investors on the platform. Abdulla Salem Alnuaimi, Group CEO of ADX, praised this progress, noting that the exchange is committed to fostering an environment that empowers future generations through enhanced financial literacy and robust market infrastructure. As women continue to play a pivotal role in both the private sector and the broader economy, their footprint in the capital markets remains a cornerstone of the UAE’s sustainable growth.
