Dubai Gold Prices Hold Firm Above Dh500 Mark
Gold prices in Dubai saw a modest uptick on Monday morning, with the 24K variant holding steady above the Dh500 threshold. According to the latest figures from the Dubai Jewellery Group, 24K gold reached Dh504.25 per gram, marking an increase of Dh2.25 from its weekend closing price. Other common gold purities—including 22K, 21K, 18K, and 14K—also saw slight gains, trading at Dh467, Dh447.75, Dh383.75, and Dh299.25 per gram respectively. On the global stage, spot gold rose by 0.42% to reach $4,178.4 per ounce, while silver mirrored this positive momentum with a 1.46% increase.
The recent stabilization follows a period of significant volatility as the precious metal recovers from selling pressure triggered by a stronger-than-anticipated US inflation report. Market experts suggest that the recent dip in Treasury yields and a softer dollar have provided the necessary support for gold to hold its ground. Analysts at Saxo Bank note that while gold is showing early signs of emerging from its recent downtrend, a breakout above $4,235 will be crucial to confirm that the current corrective phase has concluded. Ultimately, whether this trend continues will likely depend on whether hedge funds and speculative investors shift back toward a bullish stance, potentially supported by consistent ETF demand and ongoing economic uncertainty.
