Gold Prices in Dubai Dip Below Dh500 Mark
Gold prices in Dubai have witnessed a notable decline this week, with the 24K variant falling to Dh497 per gram, slipping below the Dh500 threshold. This drop marks a significant downward trend for the precious metal, which has shed Dh30.5 per gram over the past month. Other variations, including 22K, 21K, 18K, and 14K, have similarly adjusted downward, now trading at Dh460.25, Dh441.25, Dh378.25, and Dh295 per gram, respectively.
Market experts, including Vijay Valecha of Century Financial, attribute this movement to shifting global economic sentiments. While silver and gold have faced recent volatility, investor confidence is currently being influenced by the US Federal Reserve's stance on interest rates. With the probability of an October rate hike significantly diminished following recent remarks by Kevin Warsh, the resulting weakness in the US dollar and easing inflation concerns have provided some underlying support for bullion. Additionally, concerns regarding equity selloffs linked to AI investments have renewed interest in gold as a traditional safe-haven asset.
