Get Ready for the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Beta Experience

Wed, Jul 22, 2026(4h ago)Technology

Activision has officially pulled back the curtain on the beta schedule for the highly anticipated Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. The action kicks off on August 21, immediately following the Call of Duty: NEXT showcase, which will provide fans with an exclusive look at the game's multiplayer mechanics and developer commentary. Players who have pre-ordered the title on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, or PC will get first dibs during the initial testing phase, which runs through August 25. Those who secured digital pre-orders will be automatically registered, while physical copy buyers should watch for redemption codes to ensure their access.

The excitement broadens on August 28 with the launch of the open beta, which runs until September 1 and requires no pre-order commitment. This second window is particularly significant as it introduces the game to the Nintendo Switch 2, with pre-orders for that platform beginning on August 26. Participants can look forward to a diverse range of content, including various map sizes, 19 unlockable weapons, and modes spanning from intimate 3v3 skirmishes to large-scale armored combat. Furthermore, Vault Edition owners will gain an early advantage with access to iconic operators like Price and Ghost, as well as exclusive weapon blueprints, ahead of the global launch on October 23, 2026.
