Samsung Challenges Apple with New Galaxy Credit Card

Wed, Jul 22, 2026(1h ago)Technology

Samsung has officially entered the U.S. financial services market with the launch of its first-ever Galaxy-branded credit card. Issued in partnership with Barclays and operating on the Visa network, this move signals a direct escalation of the company’s rivalry with Apple, which pioneered the tech-branded credit card space back in 2019. The new card, which is available for online applications, aims to streamline daily transactions while offering a robust rewards structure designed to integrate seamlessly with the existing Samsung ecosystem.

The Galaxy Card focuses on consumer value, offering a no-annual-fee structure with competitive cash-back incentives, such as five percent back on Samsung purchases and three percent on transactions made through Samsung Wallet. Security is a core component of the offering, as the card integrates directly into Samsung Wallet and utilizes the company’s signature Knox protection platform. Beyond the digital experience, Samsung is also providing a premium physical metal card, complemented by a $200 sign-up bonus for new users who hit spending milestones within their first three months.
