ADGM Courts to Integrate AI Services to Boost Judicial Efficiency
Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) Courts is gearing up to launch a suite of AI-powered tools by the end of this year to streamline its legal operations. This initiative comes as the jurisdiction experiences a significant uptick in caseloads, with projections suggesting the court will handle roughly 1,200 cases by the close of 2024. According to Linda Fitz-Alan, the Registrar and Chief Executive of ADGM Courts, these new digital solutions are designed to simplify document preparation, expedite claim reviews, and assist users in navigating the judicial process more efficiently. While the integration of technology is a priority, the court is maintaining a measured and cautious approach to ensure that the reliance on AI remains secondary to the fundamental responsibilities inherent in judicial decision-making.
The expansion of ADGM's jurisdiction, including its reach into Al Reem Island, has introduced a broader range of complex commercial, property, and civil disputes. To keep pace with these evolving demands, the court is also focusing on specialized mediation panels specifically tailored for digital assets and emerging technologies. By combining these mediation efforts with existing remote-access platforms and ongoing research into blockchain-based judgment enforcement, ADGM Courts aims to handle the rising volume of cases without compromising on the quality or accessibility of justice for parties both within and outside the UAE.
