Bolt Launches Ride-Hailing Services in Abu Dhabi to Meet Growing Demand

Mon, May 18, 2026(50d ago)UAEBusiness

Ride-hailing giant Bolt is officially entering the Abu Dhabi market, responding to the capital's surging need for convenient, app-based transportation. The service is launching with a specialized fleet of limousines, with plans to integrate standard taxis into the platform in the coming weeks. This expansion, supported by a vast network of local fleet owners and drivers, aims to offer residents and tourists a seamless digital mobility experience that complements the city's rapidly evolving infrastructure.

The move follows a period of significant growth for Bolt and its strategic partner, the Dubai Taxi Company (DTC). Recent data highlights a consistent upward trend in e-hailing activity, bolstered by a 9 per cent year-on-year increase during the first quarter of 2026. By building on this momentum and incorporating additional National Taxi services, Bolt is positioning itself to become a major player in the UAE’s transit sector. According to Vasilis Hadjiaslanis, General Manager of Bolt UAE, this expansion is a natural progression that underscores the company's commitment to providing accessible and reliable travel solutions throughout the Emirates.
