Serious Accident in Dubai: Motorcyclist Injured in Wrong-Way Collision

Wed, Jun 3, 2026(45d ago)UAE

A motorcyclist suffered severe injuries in Dubai’s Majan district after riding against the flow of traffic, resulting in a violent collision with a vehicle on an internal road. Dubai Police and emergency medical teams arrived at the scene shortly after the incident, swiftly transporting the injured rider to a nearby hospital for urgent medical care.

Authorities have issued a stern reminder that driving against the direction of traffic is a major safety violation that frequently results in fatal head-on accidents. Brigadier Juma Salem bin Suwaidan, Director of the General Department of Traffic, emphasized that such reckless behavior poses an extreme threat to all road users. Consequently, offenders face a Dh600 fine, four black points, and a seven-day vehicle impoundment, with potential additional penalties for traffic obstruction. To ensure public safety, police confirmed they will maintain rigorous enforcement and continue their ongoing awareness campaigns to curb these dangerous habits on the road.
