Residents across the UAE will soon have access to the oral version of the weight-loss medication Wegovy, as the first shipment has officially arrived in the country. According to Emil Kongshoj Larsen, an executive vice-president at Novo Nordisk, this rollout represents a significant milestone in how obesity is managed. Rather than viewing weight struggles simply as a matter of willpower, the medical community is increasingly recognizing obesity as a chronic, progressive condition that often necessitates professional intervention alongside traditional diet and exercise routines.

The medication is designed to support patients by mitigating biological hurdles, such as persistent hunger signals and the "food noise" that can make long-term weight management feel overwhelming.
