Dubai government employees to receive nine-day break for Eid Al Adha 2026
The Dubai Government Human Resources Department has officially confirmed the holiday schedule for Arafah Day and Eid Al Adha 2026, granting public sector staff an extended nine-day break. Starting on Monday, May 25, 2026, the leave period will run through Friday, May 29, effectively encompassing the adjacent weekends to create a substantial holiday block. Normal office operations for the government are scheduled to resume on Monday, June 1, 2026.
While the majority of staff will enjoy this time off, the directive notes that these holiday dates do not apply to all personnel. Employees working in shift-based roles or those tasked with maintaining critical public services and facilities will continue their duties as required to ensure that essential operations remain uninterrupted during the festivities. This announcement follows the federal government’s earlier confirmation regarding the holiday timeline for federal employees, ensuring that the public sector remains aligned across the UAE.
