Ras Al Khaimah’s Purple Route Gets a Sustainable Upgrade With Free Rides
The Ras Al Khaimah Transport Authority (RAKTA) has officially relaunched its "Purple Route," marking a significant advancement in the emirate’s public transit network. Starting June 3, 2026, this expanded 14-kilometer path will connect Al Nakheel to Manar Mall, incorporating nine strategic stops that serve vital locations like the American University of Ras Al Khaimah, Obaida Allah Hospital, and various government offices. To celebrate the relaunch and encourage residents to explore the new 12-trip daily schedule, RAKTA is offering free bus rides for the entire first month of operation.
Beyond convenience, this initiative marks a major milestone in the emirate’s green transition with the debut of Ras Al Khaimah’s first electric public transport bus. By integrating eco-friendly technology and optimizing travel times, RAKTA aims to increase urban transport coverage significantly by 2026. Passengers can easily navigate these improvements by using the Sayer smart app, which provides real-time tracking and scheduling to ensure a seamless commute between residential, commercial, and healthcare hubs.
