AI-Powered Monitoring Coming to Dubai Driving Schools

Tue, Jun 9, 2026(90d ago)UAE

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai is set to revolutionize the way students learn to drive by introducing an Intelligent Monitoring System (IMS) across all training vehicles. This advanced technology uses smart cameras and artificial intelligence to supervise both instructors and trainees in real-time. By tracking training routes, session schedules, and classroom behavior, the initiative aims to protect the rights of everyone involved while ensuring that training time is used as efficiently as possible.

During the initial trial period, the RTA reported a staggering 200 percent increase in inspection capabilities. The system successfully identified various non-compliant behaviors, such as distractions, eating, or even sleeping during lessons. Beyond simple monitoring, this initiative aligns with Dubai’s broader vision of integrating smart technologies into public services to boost safety and operational quality. As the RTA continues to modernize its driver training curriculum—recently adding modules on advanced vehicle assistance systems—this AI-driven oversight is expected to significantly elevate the standard of road safety and professional instruction across the emirate.
