Abu Dhabi’s M42 Launches AI-Powered Platform to Tackle Chronic Kidney Disease

Wed, May 13, 2026(100d ago)UAE

For millions of people living with chronic kidney disease (CKD), the burden of lifelong dialysis is a harsh reality that significantly impacts quality of life and healthcare costs. To address this, the Abu Dhabi-based health tech company M42 has introduced "Kidney.com," an innovative AI-driven assistant designed to support patients in the earlier stages of the disease. By providing 24/7 guidance on diet, medication, and self-management, the platform aims to empower individuals to better manage their condition, potentially delaying the progression toward intensive dialysis treatments.

What distinguishes this tool from generic health chatbots is its deep clinical foundation. Developed through the expertise of over 30 international nephrologists and trained on more than three decades of renal care data from M42’s subsidiary, Diaverum, the platform underwent rigorous testing with over 14,000 real-world conversations before its launch. Currently available in five countries, including the UAE, the platform prioritizes data sovereignty, ensuring that sensitive patient information remains stored locally within its respective jurisdiction. M42 is already looking toward the future, with plans to expand this specialized AI approach to support patients managing diabetes.
