Tragedy in Dubai: Seven Foreign Nationals Among Victims of Fatal Bus Collision

Wed, Jun 10, 2026(2h ago)UAE

A devastating bus accident in Dubai has claimed the lives of seven workers, including six Indian nationals and one individual from Sri Lanka. The tragedy occurred on Sunday afternoon as the minibus, which was carrying 16 employees from a UAE-based technical services firm, was returning to their living quarters from a work site. Preliminary reports indicate the collision happened on Emirates Road when the bus struck a truck that had been left stationary on the roadside due to mechanical issues. Authorities suggest that the bus driver’s failure to maintain a safe distance and lack of attention were the primary factors behind the crash.

The aftermath has been incredibly difficult, as recovery efforts and identification are complicated by the severe state of the remains. Social workers and company officials are working together to confirm the identities of those lost before moving forward with legal and repatriation procedures. Meanwhile, medical teams are still fighting to save the lives of three workers—two Indians and one Nepali national—who remain in critical condition. Officials from the Indian Consulate have visited the hospital to support the survivors and are coordinating with local authorities to provide all necessary assistance to the victims and their families during this painful time.
