UAE Denounces Terrorist Strike on Indian Vessel Near Oman Coast
The United Arab Emirates has issued a firm condemnation regarding the recent terrorist assault on an Indian-flagged ship near the Omani coastline. In an official statement, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs characterized the incident as a severe provocation that threatens international maritime security. By targeting commercial shipping, the attackers have instigated a dangerous escalation that undermines the stability of essential global waterways, posing a significant risk to regional peace and the broader flow of international trade.
Emphasizing its solidarity with India, the UAE declared its full support for any measures required to safeguard Indian vessels and maritime interests. The Ministry highlighted that such acts of aggression violate UN Security Council Resolution 2817, which mandates the protection of navigation rights and strictly forbids the interference of commercial maritime traffic. The UAE warned that utilizing critical routes like the Strait of Hormuz for economic coercion or piracy constitutes a direct threat to global energy security and must be addressed to maintain regional stability.
