Adnoc to Speed Up Major Pipeline Project to Expand Fujairah Export Capacity
Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has officially directed Adnoc to expedite the completion of the new West-East Pipeline project. This strategic initiative aims to double the company’s oil export capacity through the Emirate of Fujairah. During a recent board committee meeting, Sheikh Khaled reviewed the project's progress, which is currently underway and slated for completion by 2027. He praised the company’s ongoing operational resilience and its ability to maintain a consistent energy supply to both domestic and international markets despite current global challenges.
The expansion comes at a critical time for the energy sector, as regional geopolitical tensions have underscored the importance of bypassing the Strait of Hormuz. By leveraging the Habshan-Fujairah route, the UAE strengthens its position as a reliable global energy producer with the flexibility to adapt to market demands. Additionally, the meeting highlighted the development of the TA’ZIZ chemicals ecosystem in Al Ruwais, reflecting the UAE's broader commitment to industrial growth and the creation of robust domestic value chains. As energy markets navigate price volatility and supply disruptions, these infrastructure advancements remain a cornerstone of the nation's strategy to ensure long-term export security.
