Sphere Abu Dhabi: The Iconic Immersive Venue Heading to Yas Island

Fri, May 15, 2026(98d ago)UAE

Yas Island is set to become home to a groundbreaking new landmark: a $1.7 billion immersive entertainment venue that will serve as the first international expansion of the iconic Las Vegas Sphere. Situated between Yas Mall and SeaWorld, this massive, glowing structure is slated for completion by the end of 2029. Much like its American predecessor, the venue will feature an "Exosphere"—a colossal exterior LED screen that will serve as a digital canvas, showcasing everything from high-profile brand events to the creative works of local Emirati artists.

Inside, the venue will push the boundaries of entertainment by blending advanced sensory technology with a capacity for up to 20,000 guests. Beyond high-definition visuals, the experience will include 3D audio, haptic seats, and even environmental effects like scent and wind to fully immerse the audience in the narrative. The programming will be diverse, ranging from concert residencies by global and local stars to proprietary immersive stories that highlight the rich culture and heritage of the UAE. By anchoring itself in the heart of Yas Island’s bustling tourist hub, the Sphere is poised to redefine the region's entertainment landscape and provide a stunning backdrop for international events like the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
